Is Your System Compromised?
HKCERT identifies these as the top "Red Flags." If you see these, don't ignore them.
Performance Drop
Is your computer suddenly slow? Is the fan spinning loud when you aren't doing anything? This could be Ransomware encrypting files in the background.
Account Anomalies
Did you get a "Password Reset" email you didn't ask for? Or a strange small transaction on your bank statement? Hackers test small before stealing big.
Network Oddities
Is your internet slow? Are there devices on your Wi-Fi you don't recognize? This could be a DDoS attack or someone stealing your bandwidth.
Antivirus Alerts
Did your antivirus disable itself? Or did it pop up a warning you clicked "Close" on? Never ignore security notifications.
Unknown Files/Emails
Are your contacts complaining about spam coming from you? Or do you see new icons on your desktop you didn't install?
Log Indicators
For advanced users: Do your system logs show failed login attempts at 3:00 AM? This is a "Brute Force" attack.
